Southwick’s Town-Owned Network: Phase 1 Pilot
We’re excited to be moving forward with the Phase 1 Pilot of Southwick’s town-owned internet! This project is currently making progress as other utilities complete the necessary “make-ready” work on existing poles. Once that work is finished, Whip City Fiber will begin network construction, installing the fiber network in three areas of town. We anticipate this construction beginning in Summer/Fall 2027, with service ready for homes in late 2027.
Phase 1 Pilot Areas Include:
- —Birchwood Road, Feeding Hills Road, Fernwood Road, Gargon Terrace, Hudson Drive, Pineywood Road, Powder Mill Road, and Whalley Way.
- —Bonnie View Road, Cedar Street, College Highway, Crescent Circle, Feeding Hills Road, Juniper Road, Renny Avenue, Ridge Street, Sefton Drive, Shirley Terrace, and Southwick Hill
- —College Highway, Depot Street, Evergreen Terrace, Granville Road, Maple Street, and Sheep Pasture Road
This pilot area will focus on homes with existing overhead service. Addresses with underground service will be considered in the future.
